Plan Your 2025 Marketing Strategy (And Why You Need to Start Now)

Have you begun planning for 2025?

As we approach the end of the year, many of us begin to wind down for the festive season. However, in Business this is the prime time to plan for the following year.

Here is my checklist for a solid Marketing Strategy for 2025

  1. Review and Reflect: Before you begin mapping out the year, take sometime to review 2024. What worked? What didn't?  Ask yourself: What worked and what can I do better?
  2.  Goal Setting: We're talking measurable, aligned goals across your business, marketing, and content efforts. Ask yourself: What do I want my business to look like?
  3.  Know Your Audience: Are you attracting your dream clients or just anyone with a wallet? Get crystal clear on who you want to work with. It's time to review your buyer persona. Ask yourself: What type of clients or customers do I want to attract?
  4.  Scope Out the Competition: What's everyone else up to? More importantly, where are the gaps you can fill? Ask yourself: How can I be first or different?
  5.  Product Mix Review: Take a hard look at your products, services, and pricing. How does your customer journey flow? Survey your database. Ask yourself: What do my customers love about working with me?
  6.  Channel Strategy: Be where your people are, evaluate current marketing channels, explore new platforms and technologies. Ask yourself: Do I need further training to better optimise?
  7.  Content Strategy: A solid content strategy can move mountains for your business. Develop content themes and topics. Plan content calendar and utilise AI to optimise your discoverability and automate tasks. Ask yourself: Have I got a content strategy?
  8.  Brand Positioning: Your brand is more than just a pretty logo. Audit and refine your personal and business. Ask yourself: What does my brand stand for?
  9.  Tech Stack Check: Are you leveraging AI and automation to their full potential? Ask yourself: Do I have ai assistants set up?
  10.  Budget Allocation: Review 2024 expenditure and evaluate  what gave you the best ROI and consider doubling down on that. Ask yourself: What gave me the biggest ROI?
  11.  Team: Evaluate team capabilities and plan training needed to level up in 2025, especially in ai. Consider outsourcing or partnerships. Ask yourself: What is one thing I would love to outsource now?
  12.  Risk Assessment: Remember 2020? What would happen if your main account got hacked or taken down? Ask yourself: What is my greatest venerability right now?
  13.  Milestones: Break your big annual plan into quarterly, monthly, and weekly chunks. Time block these into your calendar. Ask yourself: Do I have an accountability buddy or group?
  14.  Process Review and Optimisation: Be ready to pivot if something's not working. Always be testing - subject lines in emails, thumbnails and titles on videos, offers and lead magnets. Ask yourself: Do I review metrics each month?
  15.  Joy Factor: How do you celebrate your achievements? Am I working in alignment? We spend too much time working not to enjoy it. Ask yourself: What lights me up?
